Part 1 Contains 5 Digit

The First Digit in ID Card Shows

The very first part has digits, for example, 12345-*********. The first digit shows the province to which the cardholder belongs. Below we have explained the information so you can check yours for confirmation:

  • If you are CNIC begins with 1 you belong to KPK.
  • If it begins with 2, you belong to FATA.
  • The Resident of Punjab will find the CNIC number starting from 3
  • People belonging to Sindh have CNIC numbers starting from 4
  • The number 5 is placed for Baluchistan’s residents.
  • Residents of Islamabad will find their CNIC number starting from 6
  • The people whose CNIC starts from 7, belong to Gilgit Baltistan

The Second Digit in ID Card Shows

The second digit of the CNIC number shows your division. It means each person has a different second digit if they belong to the same province.

The Remaining Numbers

The next three digits represent the district, tehsil, and Union council.

Part II Contains 8 Digit

The middle part of the CNIC number, which is separated from hyphens such as *****-74196350-* represents the family number of Pakistani citizens. This code actually formulates the family tree of that particular person with people who have blood relations.

Part III contains 1 digit

The last digit that is single represents your Sex. Male CNIC owners are shown with odd numbers such as 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9. Whereas for women even digits, i.e. 2, 4, 6, and 8 are used.
