The process of union council birth certificate is a mandatory requirement under Pakistan law. Acquiring a birth certificate is a fundamental right of every child recognized by national as well as international law.

Who Can File Application For Birth Certificate At Union Council?

The first priority is given to the child’s parents, they have to personally appear before the union council office while giving applying for a union council birth certificate.

If parents are outside the country or dead then the first blood relative can apply for birth registration. But they have to provide a certified copy of the Court’s guardian certificate and death certificate (if parents are dead). In cases where a child has been adopted, a Court Guardian Certificate will also be required.

Process of Getting Union Council Birth Certificate

If you or your child don’t have a union council birth certificate then you should immediately approach your concerned union council.

While applying for a childbirth certificate from the union council you should visit their office and get the application form from.

Late Entry Procedure for Union Council Birth Certificate

The applicant has to submit application of reason that delay occurred. Along with this application one affidavit and hospital birth slip or where the child is studying in school then school certificate or card of child vaccination is submitted to the chairman or vice-chairman only.

One certificate from the councilor or Lambardar attesting the birth of a child is also required.

After verification of birth detail, the secretary union council will enter the date of birth within 5 days.

Delay is more than 7 years

Where the delay is more than 7 years then again documents that need to attach will remain the same. But this time within 7 days the secretary union council will forward these documents to the assistant commissioner. After confirmation from the Assistant commissioner office entry will be made within 7 days.

During that procedure, the applicant will be asked to consult the medical superintendent in the district headquarter hospital. He will examine the child to determine his age. That superintendent will submit his report to the chairman or vice-chairman. And upon chairman order secretary will enter the date of birth in the union council.

How Overseas Pakistan Can Get Union Council Child Birth

Those who are living abroad can within 180 days reach the Pakistani consulate to register their childbirth in the union council. A form S will be provided to those applicants. Fill it and then your consulate will send a report to the concerned union council.

  1. Sir my aunt was born in 1949. Already found her birth record from punjab health department. They have given us a documemt called “Registar ismwar paidaish Thana” which shows her name, date and place of birth. Since no union council existed at that time so UC says they can’t issue Birth certificate.We need it for embassy.Please guide
